The design on this page seems kind of out of place, right? Indulge me for a minute, I promise you it’ll all make sense. I made the decision to start my own blog after a bit of thought. I have been (and still currently am) at the point where I don’t feel fulfilled in my career path and I know I’m not the only one! After years of education and “settling” into a job that I initially thought would be “it” for me, I suddenly realize that it’s just not IT! I am a firm believer that everyone should be happy in what they do (I know, this can be a far fetched idea at times because the bills have to get paid) but for me, I was simply tired of not doing what I love. I was also tired of spending my days coming up with innovative and dope ideas daydreaming at my office desk, and not going anywhere with them.
Then there was the feeling of doubt: “what if no one wants to read what I have to say?” “what if they disagree with me?” “what if I offend someone?” “what if I’m BORRRRRRING!!!” I asked myself these questions over and over again and realized that self-doubt stopped me from doing what I’ve really wanted to do for so long. So I’m fully investing myself in this now, in 2021…note to self: I’m never boring, I’m pretty freaking cool.
So here I am doing what I love. I’m writing this blog to connect with the type person I’ve identified with for the last 4+ years – a mommy. I’ve also learned so much about myself in these past years and although I’ve become a mommy, I haven’t lost other parts of my identity to being a mommy. And so, I’m bringing all of those parts of my identity here:
I’m a Christian
I’m Afro-Latina
I’m a wife
I’m a reader
I’m a foodie (I…LOVE…FOOD)
I’m a drinker (my fave drink: Mojito. It’s the best, don’t debate me)
I am a strong advocate of health, physical and mental
As I share things about myself through doing what I love, I encourage all of you to follow what YOU want to do; I believe it’s possible to be a mommy while fulfilling your purpose here on this Earth. I’m excited to connect with people like me, to share some things I’ve learned along the way, and to get helpful tips from those who are wiling to share; I’ll also be sharing pictures of my amazing girls.
This should be fun Welcome all
